For December's monthly meeting, a "Breakfast Social" was put on to create a break in between studying for students before finals week. There were pancakes, corn hole tournaments, and dummy roping!

December 1st-3rd, YCA officers and members attended the 105th annual California Cattlemen's Association Convention in Reno, NV. At the convention, there were various official meetings to discuss CCA board and finance meetings, but there were also many opportunities to listen in on current issues within the beef cattle industry at general sessions and workshops. Part of the fun our members and officers got to participate in was the trade show. YCC members got to network with several different beef industry related companies, listen in to highly educated cattlemen, and eat great food. Some of our officers, Madison, Alexis, and Gloria, had the opportunity to be interns at the convention! We would also like to congratulate our graduate advisors, Meredith Harrison and Sebastian Mejia-Turcios for their presentation of their PhD research! For the second monthly meeting, we began by gathering outside for a delicious nacho bar provided by the YCA club. We then gathered inside to discuss announcements/events such as the 105th annual California Cattlemen's Association Convention, Little I stock show sign-ups , AI clinic details, and FFA field day this upcoming spring. The next upcoming meeting was announced which was a Breakfast social on December 4th. Following the announcements, we had a Breeding and AI demonstration by Jordan Munson, the UC Davis Field Station manager. To conclude our meeting, we had a Cow Pie eating contest and gourd bowling.
For our first official monthly meeting, we introduced the 2021-2022 officer team. Next, there was a discussion on this year's upcoming events which include a fundraiser, Little International Stock Show (Little I), and the AI clinic. Also, some outside learning opportunities were presented to members. After, we had a wonderful presentation on Calving Season by PhD candidate, Meredith Harrison. Lastly, a fund game of 'Fear Factor' was played upon the members where they got to touch spooky cattle themed parts and guess as to what they were.
